today i observed art in the making. well, not sure it was even intended to be, but honestly it was beautiful. my friend sarah was modelling for our friend's photo project. so many shots... he had to take pictures of sarah dressed in warm, cool and neutral colours in several kinds of backgrounds. we started indoors using sarah's couch drapped in fuschia cloth, her bed with forest green and blue, and our cream coloured walls. sarah has such fabulous clothing, and it was fascinating to really think about colour and what effects it had. ironically, brent, who was doing this project, is mildly colour blind. one wonders if he was getting as much out of it as sarah and i. it was amazing to see how great it looked to have the background coordinate with clothing and how well certain things suited sarah. sarah also is the sort who really seemed well-suited to the project. i don't know why, but she just seems to have this character to her which is readily evident just from seeing her. when brent is finished i want to see the final project--i'm betting it looks fabulous. so then we headed outside and had sarah run around in front of brick buildings, yellow biohazard tanks.... she also got to frolic in the grass and lie down on some random person's car. wheefun. it was so nice just to be outside, though. although it was tremendously awkward for sarah to try and change outfits outside. she ran behind a pillar at one point. ^_^ i think i appreciate visual art in such a different way than aural art. i know too much about music. it makes it hard to turn off the critic at times, so i have a difficult time enjoying some things which may not be up to professional standards. it's totally different with art since i have virtually no training. ignorance is sort of nice, really. i can say "wow, i really like this, i think it's spiffy," and have absolutely no justification behind it. it's nice to not be elitist. becoming a learnèd person must suck relatively at times. i'm up insanely late again. why are my weekends turning out this way? mrf. must sleep so that i can read tomorrow. g'night.
