brunchmeets are a Very Good Thing. there was almost as much travel time dedicated to this as actual brunchmeet time, but it was worth it nonetheless. this is the first time i've ever done anything remotely similar, and how many horror stories does one hear of "i knew so and so only online, and upon meeting them such and such became apparent"? but in this case everything was just as it should be. :) meanwhile, my sincere admiration to those present for not (or at least apparently not) being annoyed to death by me on total lack of sleep. well, i think i was relatively coherent for some few hours, but as it got later i couldn't even walk straight without concentration. also, i think i'm completely losing my mine; i couldn't manage to figure out why, but i constantly ended up wanting to use french phrases rather than english, and, as usual, no one had a clue what i was talking about. bad me. somehow, though, despite my best efforts, we had a fabulous time. or i did. =Þ it's just amazing how wonderful people are, and then i feel as though it's amazing that i have the chance to actually be around them. how lucky i am. aftermath of all this is that i'm dead tired yet again and my feet managed to bleed in fun places scaring me when i got home and took off my shoes. i rather think i didn't quite want my blood to look quite that colour, although there's not much of it. still unnerving, though. i got back about three thirty last night because i just barely missed the first lirr train available. i had about thirteen minutes in which to catch it, and i had too large a bill to use the automated ticket vending machines, so i had to wait in the main line. there was only one booth open and the line was insane, so i decided to see if i could use my debit card at the vending machine instead, which theoretically i should have been able to, but i've discovered that it's been so long since i've used it that i no longer have any idea what my pin number is. badbad. i think, though, that it was amazing how easy it was to get home. i arrived at the port authority at about quarter of one, walked maybe seven blocks to penn getting there by five of one, then proceeded to miss the one oh eight train, but the next was only forty minutes later. this all could have been much worse, since after the one forty six the next train was four twenty two. meanwhile, one doubts the wisdom of walking by oneself around the port authority at night, but at least it was friday night, so everything was quite active, relatively speaking. meanwhile, i also had to change at jamaica on the lirr, so that's the second thing that's really looked at as somewhat iffy. although when one considers the insane number of people on the train... the whole train was packed and many of us were standing until two thirds the train transferred off at jamaica. so i got home to syosset at about quarter of three and took my time walking the couple miles home since my stupid toe kept stinging if i put weight on it. i was happy, though. i felt much better with the less than comfortable arrangement because i wasn't relying on anyone. i just really want to be self-sufficient, and hopefully it will happen soon. anyhow, i should start in on my list of what to bring with me to school as well as actually straightening my room. i never finished putting away my stuff from school before i left utah, and now i have whatever junk that wasn't organized after i got back... well, it isn't bad, but there's rather a lot of stuff in boxes that need to be organized and mostly shipped right back off again in my dad's tiny car. that's going to be fun in a few days. :) well, now i've gone and blabbed myself to death again. *shrug* in closing... YAY!
